ABOUT THE VENUE
Splash Studio is designed to feel like an artist's studio loft with the ambiance of an upscale urban bar. Think Hide House mixed with a little Swig, a dash of MIAD, and shot of your favorite art gallery. A giant Splash from Jennifer Espenscheid (The Soma Gallery) hangs in the front window, mirrored by two exhibitions from local emerging artists. Easels, paint brushes, canvases and palettes signal that this is space where art is not only viewed and appreciated, but also created.
Need a little help finding that inner artist? A library of vintage art books and auction catalogs stands in the corner, waiting to be explored. Or just get personal with the collection of "featured session paintings" surrounding the check in space. (We know what you're thinking... and yes, you can touch.)
If you're still not quite convinced, there's a whole bar filled with plenty of what we like to call "creative juices". Caged worklights hang above the custom wood countertops, and glass tiles highlight a wine rack that would make any wine bar jealous. Pull up a drafting stool and compare art history knowledge with your neighbor. Or, just play our old school 8-bit gaming system on the flat screen. That's cool too.
Be sure to poke around the studio when you're here – the little details are designed to inspire you to explore art in ways you may never have before.
