“Lagoon” was one of the first paintings commissioned for the the Splash Studio Library in 2012. The inspiration for the paintings was taken from a photograph taken in Greenfield Park, looking across the park's lagoon. The painting itself is designed to teach the technique of painting reflections. When you mix a color for the trees, that same color will be used to create the reflections in the water. The difference between trees and water will be recognizable not by color, but by application and brush stroke.
